Planet Fitness is an American franchisor and operator of fitness centers with its headquarters based in Hampton, New Hampshire. The company reports that it has 1,973 clubs and over 10 million members, making it one of the largest fitness club franchises by number of members and locations. There are locations across the United States as well as in other countries such as Canada, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Mexico. It recently announced expansion plans into Australia.
With the opening of the Woodmen Rd location, the total Planet Fitness gyms in Colorado reaches 27, with this being the 4th Colorado Springs location. This is the first Springs location for this franchisee, Jost ADK, Inc.
Planet Fitness creates a “Judgment Free Zone” that caters to novice and casual gym users and is reported to be the nation’s fastest growing fitness center franchise. Most locations are open and staffed 24/7, clean and spacious facilities with tons of equipment (a variety of high-quality, brand-name cardio and strength equipment), free fitness training and additional amenities.
Memberships start at just $10/month with no commitment and access to the home location you sign up at. The Black Card Membership is $22.99/month and comes with extra amenities which include, but are not limited to unlimited guest privileges, tanning, use of Hydromassage beds & loungers, massage chairs, total body enhancement, ½ price cooler drinks and more.
Jost ADK, Inc. was founded in 2013 and is comprised of 3 brothers as Managing Partners: Jason, Rich and Jonny Jost, whom all live in Colorado. They opened their first location in Lakewood in January 2014. They have since opened additional locations in Lakewood, Lakeside, Parker, Downtown Denver, Littleton and Castle Rock. The Woodmen Rd site is their 8th location.
