Education & Experience

Dr. Derek Schop has been providing patients with general dentistry services for over 20 years. He completed dental school at the Medical College of Georgia where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1995. He also completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) through the United States Air Force in 1996.

After dental school, Dr. Schop began his career at a private practice in Tucson where he was the sole dentist helping patients with all types of care including fillings, dentures, extractions and more. He then made a career move and began working for the State of Arizona with the Arizona Department of Corrections (AZDOC) providing comprehensive dental services to patients in a secured correctional facility.

For the five years prior to joining PERFECT TEETH™, Dr. Schop served patients at a very busy private practice in Tucson alongside two other dentists. Despite his many years of helping patients in private practice, he was ready to make a change. Dr. Schop was looking to affiliate with an organization that allowed him to forgo the administrative burdens of running a practice so he could focus solely on the care of his patients. He looks forward to providing you and your family with the same level of exceptional care and service you’ve come to expect from our team. 

Outside Of The Office

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Schop enjoys spending time staying active. He enjoys many activities including skiing, biking and swimming. What you may not know about Dr. Schop is that he is still a member of the United States Air Force serving as a reservist – something he is proud of and remains close to his heart.
